Please be aware that accurate reproduction of our colours will be influenced by the nature and conditions of the colours to be used, the printing methods, the type of paper and the character of the surface, the type of materials, different light and viewing conditions.

Pantone colour printing
Pantone colours are to be used when no halftone colour illustrations are needed in the printing assignment. Pantone colours provide the most accurate reproduction of the Jotun colours.

Four colour printing (CMYK)
This printing method is to be used when the printed matter is to contain colour halftone illustrations. This ’mixed’ method of Europe standard colours can never match the accuracy of the Pantone system, but the reproduction will be fairly similar to the colours of the Pantone method.

Please note that cmyk values indicated in this guideline is taken from “Pantone® color bridgeTM coated EURO” (Pantone EC).

Packaging
This area covers print on paper, board, plastic and tin. Both PMS and four colour printing are involved. It is extremely important that our colours are correctly reproduced on packaging. For this reason, printing of packaging must always be based on the correct colour samples. For packaging such as cans, the samples printed on tin plate must be used.

For board packaging, the samples of Pantone colours on matt or glossy paper are to be used.

Control of printing results
It is essential that colours are printed as accurately as possible. Deviation from the individual colour samples will not be accepted. Anyone in charge of a project should attend the start of each production/printing process.

Authorization!
Anyone who works with Jotun's visual identity or print materials for Jotun is to be authorized by Jotun, and is obligated to adhere to the guidelines in accordance with the signed authorization agreement.
